If you’ve been following what Ramen Toy and the amazing pieces they constantly put out, you already know they deliver some of the most impressive collectibles in the hobby, and this 1:12 scale SPM KITT from Knight Rider is yet another example of why they’ve earned that reputation. We’re looking at a ridiculously detailed replica of the iconic black Trans Am complete with Michael Knight, and the level of craftsmanship here is just jaw-dropping when you consider everything packed into this piece. The fact that KITT actually lights up and can be activated with a remote control takes this far beyond a standard display piece and pushes it into something that feels genuinely interactive on the shelf, which is exactly the kind of innovation that keeps collectors fired up about what Ramen Toy brings to the table. It requires 3x AA batteries for KITT and 2x AAA for the remote, so you’ll want to stock up, but that’s a small price to pay for what looks like one of the most faithful representations of the Knight Industries Two Thousand that we’ve seen at this scale. Ramen Toy has a track record of striking gold with these licensed properties, treating each release with the kind of care and obsession that only fellow collectors would demand, and this KITT is no exception. I love how they continue to push boundaries with features like integrated lighting and remote operation while never sacrificing the sculpt quality or screen accuracy that makes a piece like this worth displaying front and center. If you’re a Knight Rider fan or just someone who appreciates when a company goes all in on getting every detail right, this is one to keep your eyes locked on because it looks like Ramen Toy has done it again.

UPDATE: 04/16/2026 In Hand Prototype Images Beijing Hobby Expo

Below we have in hand images of the prototype being displayed at the Beijing Hobby Expo. The 1:12 scale KITT prototype sits in a display case finished in glossy black with clean lines that capture the Pontiac Trans Am silhouette well, and the red scanner bar on the front nose is lit up. A Michael Knight figure stands alongside the car wearing a leather jacket over a red shirt with jeans, and a smaller-scale KITT model is also on display at the base of the case.

Knight Rider Twelfth SPM KITT 1

The T-top roof on KITT shows window tinted panels that contrast nicely against the black body, and the turbine-style wheel covers on the front wheel have a silver finish with good detail. You will also see the remote control shaped like the KITT car sitting next to the Michael Knight figure.

Knight Rider Twelfth SPM KITT 2

Michael Knight’s head sculpt has a nice likeness with wavy brown hair and a subtle expression that feels appropriate for the character. The driver’s side door on KITT is open here, showing off the tan interior and a glimpse of the detailed dashboard instruments inside the cockpit.

Knight Rider Twelfth SPM KITT 3

Clad in a black leather jacket with sculpted wrinkles and folds at the elbows and waist, Michael Knight pairs it with a red open-collar shirt that shows a hairy chest. A smaller KITT sits nearby which is actually the remote control. The proportions between the figure and the 1:12 car look just right for the intended scale.

This promotional layout splits between an interior cockpit shot and a rear three-quarter view of KITT in Super Pursuit Mode, with the product description listed alongside. The cockpit shot gives a clear look at the lenticular monitor screen and the dense light-up console surrounding Michael Knight, who grips the wheel in his black leather jacket. Here’s the full product description as listed:

Michael Knight sits behind KITT’s steering wheel, and the dashboard is the real star here, packed with a dense array of red, green, and yellow readouts that light up across the full width of the console. I like the way the interior’s tan seats contrast with all that black trim, and the Knight Industries logo on the steering wheel is a sharp little touch.

The rear three-quarter view of KITT shows off several functional features, including the fold-out red panels for the EBS Emergency Braking System mounted on the roof and rear bumper area. Callout circles highlight the LCD display in the dash, the lit tail lights, and the SPM tail lights, all of which light up and are powered by batteries.

I’m really digging the warm glow coming off those SPM tail lights, with each individual LED element lit up in a bright orange-red that pops against KITT’s glossy black body. The “KNIGHT” California license plate sits just below the light array, tucked neatly between the rear bumper details.

Showing off the Super Pursuit Mode, KITT’s front end is lit up with warm yellow headlights and foglights flanking that iconic red scanner bar, which glows with individual LED segments across the nose. The panels are popped open alongside the deployed EBS roof panel, and the tan interior is a nice contrast against all that black.

The remote controller is shaped like a miniature KITT, matching the black body and low-slung profile of the full-sized model. I like how they handled the remote design, it’s a fun touch that keeps it on theme instead of going with a generic controller.

Knight Rider Twelfth Scale SPM KITT with Michael Knight by Ramen Toy 4

Michael Knight stands beside KITT with the driver’s door swung open, and the 1:12 scale proportions look well matched between figure and vehicle. The tan leather-look interior seats are a nice detail glimpsed through the open door.

Knight Rider Twelfth Scale SPM KITT with Michael Knight by Ramen Toy 5

Michael Knight is seated casually on KITT’s hood, and his leg articulation looks solid enough to pull off the relaxed pose convincingly. Outfitted with a black leather-look jacket over a red open-collar shirt, gray slacks, and black boots, he’s got a gold belt buckle that catches the eye as a nice small detail.

Knight Rider Twelfth Scale SPM KITT with Michael Knight by Ramen Toy 6

Michael Knight’s red shirt pops against the black leather jacket, and the figure’s overall proportions look well-suited to the 1:12 scale KITT beside him. The scanner bar on KITT’s nose is lit up with that signature red glow, each LED segment coming through clearly against the glossy black front end.

Knight Rider Twelfth Scale SPM KITT with Michael Knight by Ramen Toy 8

Michael Knight stands next to KITT with the miniature remote control placed at his feet, and the three pieces together really sell the 1:12 scale, with the remote reading almost like a toy car within the toy’s own world.

Knight Rider Twelfth Scale SPM KITT with Michael Knight by Ramen Toy 9

Finished in a deep glossy black, KITT’s front end is angled to show all four corner lights fired up in a warm yellow, with the red SPM scanner bar running across the center of the nose. That scanner bar looks great from this angle, with the individual red LED elements contrasting sharply against the surrounding black bodywork.

If following along with the updates from the Mobula felt like watching the gears turn inside Ramen Toy’s creative machine, then seeing the official Mobula art takes that excitement to a whole new altitude, because now we are not just looking at engineering refinements and preproduction tweaks, we are staring straight into the attitude and personality of this beast thanks to the insanely talented Gary DjShag Gorzoch, who absolutely brings the Makina Labs vision roaring to life in full throttle fashion. After breaking down the subtle color variations in the test sample and talking through fit and function updates ahead of its anticipated New York Comic Con 2025 preorder, it is honestly such a rush to now pivot and see how the Mobula is being framed visually for collectors, with dynamic line work, aggressive stance, and that unmistakable fusion of sleek sports coupe styling colliding with jet-propelled firepower that perfectly captures what Ramen Toy has been showing all along. I love when we get to experience both sides of the process like this, the nuts and bolts of a transforming vehicle inching toward final production and then the high-octane artwork that fuels our imagination about how it will look tearing across a shelf display. This art drop feels like the emotional ignition switch, flipping the Mobula from promising prototype to full-blown must-watch release, and I cannot wait to see how the final packaging presentation ties it all together for Makina Labs collectors.

Box Art and Design

The main panel features painted artwork of the Mobula in mid transformation, the sports car angled upward as the wings extend and missiles fire from the hood and rear. The purple body is highlighted with blue wing panels and jet boosters, with blast effects streaking behind it, while a character illustration of Violet Widow appears in an inset circle. The red and yellow background framing gives it that classic vintage vehicle box energy.

This angle shows the side panel with the vehicle in full car mode racing forward, wings partially deployed and rockets launching. Violet Widow stands beside the vehicle in illustrated form, holding her helmet, dressed in a dark blue outfit with contrasting accents. The feature callouts highlight a pop up rocket launcher with stinger missiles, a realistic cockpit with removable windows and deployable jet seats, front and rear flip out wing extensions with blasters, pop up rear stabilizers, and triple intonium boosters mounted at the back. The layout keeps the vehicle large and centered, with feature callouts placed around it to spotlight play functions.

This shows the outer flap as it opens, featuring the green grid blueprint artwork with technical line drawings of the Mobula in car and aircraft modes. The large preview window area sits along the bottom panel, framed by the neon grid design, giving that retro tech display feel before the flap is lifted.

This angle shows the flap fully opened, clearly demonstrating how the front panel lifts to expose the inner art and preview window area. The dynamic vehicle illustration stretches across the interior, with Violet Widow shown beside the vehicle, reinforcing how the packaging transforms into a display style presentation when opened.

From the rear, the box flap is fully opened upward, revealing the large interior artwork panel mounted inside the lid. The inner art shows the Mobula angled mid transformation with missiles firing, while the lower half of the box displays the vehicle in toy form with wings deployed and rear boosters extended. This angle shows how the top panel lifts cleanly to create a display style presentation when opened.

NYCC 2025 Preproduction Images

Hot off the press from Ramen Toy, we now have fresh, unedited photos showing the second test shot of the preproduction sample of the Mobula Venmon vehicle from their Makina Labs line, and wow, this is exciting to see take shape! Described as a mild-mannered sports coupe that transforms into a jet-propelled aircraft armed with destructive ordnance, this piece of engineering wizardry is inching closer to reality, and I can’t wait to see it in collectors’ hands and in person at New York Comic Con 2025. This latest test shot highlights the continued refinement of the vehicle, as Ramen Toy has stated that there are still some areas they are improving for fit and function. One thing you’ll notice right away is the difference in colors between the doors and the body, but don’t worry, that’s just a preproduction sample and will not be in the final release. It’s always a thrill to follow along with these developmental updates, as we get a behind-the-scenes look at how a complex vehicle like this evolves from prototype to final form. Best of all, Ramen Toy has confirmed that preorders will be opening during NYCC 2025, with delivery targeted for the first quarter of 2026, so the wait isn’t as far off as it might feel so mark those calendars, because this Mobula is shaping up to be a real game changer! If you have not preordered Ramen Toy’s NYCC 2025 exclusives, check them out here!

The Mobula vehicle looks sharp in hand as you can see the rocket launcher system deployed from the hood. The transforming parts fold out into wing extensions on the sides and rear, giving it that jet-propelled aircraft vibe from the cartoon. The clear windows reveal a detailed interior, which really brings the model to life when viewed up close.

Mobula Makina Labs Ramen Toy Preproduction 2

From the back you can really appreciate the engineering that went into the Mobula, with the standard tail lights and bumper design flipping to reveal the hidden jet thrusters. The panels swing open cleanly to expose the turbine detail inside, showing how the sleek coupe form transforms into a powerful aircraft mode. It’s a clever execution that blends the retro car look with functional transformation parts.

Ace also gave fans what they wanted in the form of a spring loaded mechanism that deploys the jets, which you can see (and hear) in the video below! The deployment sounds as good as it looks! Ka-CHUNK!

The underside of the Mobula reveals all the tucked-away mechanics, with the folding turbine parts, wheels, and panels neatly integrated to keep the car mode streamlined. You can spot the detailed sculpting of the exhaust and engine components molded into the base, showing the attention to detail. From the top view, the car locks back into a clean, seamless coupe form, hiding the transformation elements while keeping that sleek purple and blue finish intact.

The Mobula packs in some clever extras, like the removable seat that doubles as a mini escape seat complete with sculpted thrusters underneath. On the front end, the car can deploy twin spinning saw blades that are an homage to the cartoon appearance, adding to its arsenal of transforming weaponry. These little touches really showcase the thought put into blending play features with the sleek vehicle design.

Huge thanks to Big Bad Toy Store for sending over the Undead Phantom Corps Trooper from Operation Monster Force Season Zero so we can get this Apophis Legion figure in-hand, because I have been seriously looking forward to spending some time with this release. This 1/12 scale figure highlights the continued collaboration between BigBadWorkshop and Fresh Monkey Fiction and pulls directly from the dark mythology of the Forgotten King and his resurrected forces, the Apophis Legion, made up of fallen special forces soldiers from around the world who were slaughtered and raised as his undead army. As I dove deep into this figure, I am genuinely impressed by the overall build, the realistic paint apps, poseability, and the generous loadout included with this trooper, all of which really elevate the premium nature of this figure once it is out of the package. What makes this even better is that the weapons are designed by Gridiron Studios so you know they will be realistic and accurate! This review also kicks off the first of a four-figure review series we will be rolling out, so stay tuned, as there is a lot more Operation Monster Force goodness on the way. Impressed by the figure? We definitely are and if you are too, head over to Big Bad Toy Store and add the Undead Phantom Corps Trooper Operation Monster Force Season Zero Apophis Legion figure to your shelf!

Apophis Legion Undead Phantom Corps Trooper (Season Zero)

The Apophis Legion is the undead army of the Forgotten King, a sorcerer pharaoh whose existence was erased from Egyptian history due to the brutality of his reign, and these soldiers are reanimated special forces operatives from around the world who were originally sent to stop him and failed. Known as the Undead Phantom Corps, these troopers retain their combat training and tactical knowledge from their previous lives, allowing them to operate modern weapons and function as a disciplined military force despite their supernatural condition. They cannot be killed through conventional means and serve the Forgotten King without question, making them one of the most terrifying threats faced by Operation: Monster Force. This Season Zero trooper represents the earliest visual identity of the Apophis Legion and embodies the idea that these are fallen soldiers twisted into instruments of an ancient evil.

Apophos-Legion-Operation-Monster-Force-Background-Information

This is a quick peek at what we’ll be diving into below, and right away the figure gives off a heavy, grounded feel that leans hard into gritty realism. I’m really liking how the zombie head sculpt blends torn flesh, exposed teeth, and a battered helmet without overpowering the military gear, letting both elements share the spotlight. The layered tactical vest, pouches, and straps feel dense and purposeful, while the camo paint apps show wear and grime that sell the undead soldier concept without going too far.

Packaging

Right out of the gate, the front of the packaging sets a serious tone, with a large character image that puts the undead soldier front and center without distractions. I like how the portrait leans into the damaged facial sculpt and torn uniform details, giving a clear preview of the paint work and texture you’re getting inside. The framing feels clean and deliberate, and the darker, muted color palette supports the horror military theme while still letting the figure read clearly at a glance. It immediately feels like packaging meant to be displayed just as much as opened, which already has me curious to see how the rest of the box carries that forward.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-2

The back of the packaging leans hard into world building, and I like how it uses a full figure image alongside a large block of story text to establish the Apophis Legion threat without feeling cluttered. The write up clearly frames the Phantom Corps as an elite unit that meets a very bad end, and seeing that narrative paired with the damaged soldier imagery helps connect the figure to the broader Season Zero storyline. Along the bottom, the lineup callout does a nice job showing how this trooper fits into a larger collection, giving a clean visual rundown of what else is available while reinforcing that this is part of a much bigger universe they’re setting up right out of the gate.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-1

Opening the storybook style flap immediately shifts the packaging into something more narrative driven, with a full comic spread that leans hard into the lore behind the Apophis Legion. I like how the panels are used to visually explain the supernatural turn without needing to pull the figure out of the box, giving context to why this trooper looks the way he does. It feels intentional and well integrated, turning the packaging into part of the experience rather than just a container, and it makes spending a little extra time with the box feel worthwhile before even getting to the figure itself.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-8

The comic lays out the origin of the Phantom Corps as a first strike special operations unit sent in to neutralize emerging threats, with Declan Van Helsing embedded as their intelligence officer. When the Forgotten King is identified as a supernatural danger, the team is deployed and quickly realizes that conventional tactics are useless against him. Declan witnesses the unit being completely wiped out, only for the Forgotten King to resurrect the fallen soldiers as undead troops. That moment reframes the entire conflict, establishing the Apophis Legion as former elite operators now raised from the dead and bound to serve a new master.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-9

The figure is neatly secured in a clear plastic tray that keeps everything visible and well organized right out of the box. I’m liking how the trooper is centered in a neutral stance, with the alternate head, multiple hands, and weapon laid out cleanly along the side so nothing feels crammed or hidden. Larger pieces like the rifle and display base are separated and bagged beneath the tray, which keeps them protected while still making it obvious how much is included. What really stands out here is that the interior artwork and fold out design allow the packaging itself to double as a diorama piece, something we’ll be showing off later once the figure is fully set up outside the tray.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-3

Weapons and Accessories

Laid out altogether, the loadout really shows how much thought went into this release without feeling excessive. You get six pairs of hands that cover a wide range of grips and gestures, along with a pistol, holster, knife, and separate knife sheath to build out different configurations. The SAW machine gun anchors the set as the main weapon, backed up by blast effects that add some visual punch when it’s in hand, plus an extra portrait and a helmet loaded with accessories for alternate looks. There’s also an extra patch included, and everything wraps up with the gravestone style display base, which ties the undead theme together and gives the figure a solid footprint once it’s fully geared up.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-10

Figure Details

Right out of the package, the figure buck immediately feels solid and well proportioned, with everything sitting where it should. The combination of the undead head sculpt and modern tactical gear comes together cleanly, giving a clear sense of the character without needing any accessories attached yet. Even in this neutral, straight out of the box setup, it already reads as a cohesive base figure, setting the stage for a deeper dive into the sculpting, paint, and articulation in the next shots.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-22

From the back, the figure shows consistent detailing across the tactical vest and uniform, with the rear armor plate sitting flush and the straps and buckles clearly defined. The camo pattern continues evenly across the legs and arms, with torn fabric areas and exposed damage carried through to the shoulders and calves for visual consistency. The holster placement and belt details are cleanly integrated, keeping everything aligned without interfering with the silhouette.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-7

This close up really shows how well the blood, gore, and splatter effects are balanced across the figure. I’m impressed by the way the reds are layered into the sculpted wounds, while finer splatter hits the surrounding fabric in a more controlled, uneven pattern that feels intentional rather than excessive. The contrast between the glossy damage and the flatter, dirtied camo helps everything read clearly, giving the injuries a realistic presence without overwhelming the rest of the sculpt.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-6

This shot really puts the swappable hands to good use, showing off how the different sculpts change the attitude of the figure without forcing anything awkward at the wrists. I like how the hands carry the same level of paint and damage as the rest of the body, with subtle blood hits and texture that keep them consistent with the upper arms and torso. Up top, the vest, straps, and pouches all sit naturally against the chest and shoulders, and the layered detailing across the upper body feels dense without looking cluttered, which helps everything come together cleanly in hand.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-15

This close up really lets the helmet shine, with the textured shell, mounted optics, and comms earphone gear all reading cleanly and feeling properly scaled to the head underneath. I like how the helmet sits low enough to frame the face without hiding it, which puts the face sculpt front and center with its exposed teeth, torn cheek, and layered paint giving the undead look real depth. The contrast between the hard, clean lines of the gear and the rough, damaged skin underneath works well, and it makes this head and helmet combo feel like a key part of the figure’s overall identity.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-21

This setup shows how much the mask accessory changes the look when added to the helmet, giving the figure a more sealed, tactical appearance while still letting parts of the face peek through. I like how the mask fits snugly without throwing off the proportions of the helmet or crowding the head sculpt underneath. The knife pairs well with this configuration, sitting naturally in the hand with clean sculpting on the blade and handle, and it reinforces how easy it is to shift the figure between different loadouts.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-16

This closer look really shows how effective the blast effects are when they’re actually in use on the weapons. The translucent orange pieces taper naturally from the barrel and catch the light well. I like that they’re sized just right to add visual interest at the muzzle, giving the pose more depth when the figure is displayed on the shelf.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-14

This shot does a good job showing how the smoke effect adds an extra layer of visual interest when paired with the pistol, giving the weapon a bit more presence. I like how the translucent piece curls upward in a natural way. You can also see how swapping or repositioning the helmet mask changes the overall look, letting the face be more exposed or more covered depending on the setup, which makes it easy to give the figure a different personality from one pose to the next.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-17

This close up really highlights the level of detail packed into the SAW machine gun, from the layered panel lines and venting along the body to the sculpted rails and barrel assembly. I like how the proportions feel substantial, and the matte finish helps all those mechanical details read clearly. Paired with the blast effect at the muzzle, it feels like a centerpiece weapon that matches the intensity of the figure and anchors the entire loadout.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-12

This tighter shot really lets the blast effect and SAW machine gun do the heavy lifting, with the translucent orange flame sitting cleanly at the muzzle and adding a strong visual punch without hiding any of the sculpted detail on the barrel. The weapon itself still reads sharp and mechanical, with all the panel lines and surface texture coming through even in close proximity to the effect piece. It’s also cool to notice the exposed ligaments in the forearm right next to the grip, a small but effective detail that ties the undead damage directly into the action pose instead of keeping it isolated to the legs or face.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-13

This shot puts the tactical vest front and center, and it’s cool to see that the Phantom Corps chest plate is fully swappable rather than being locked into the sculpt. You can remove the branded plate and replace it with the blank option, which instantly changes the look of the figure and makes it feel more like a generic unit or rank and file trooper. The vest itself sits naturally on the torso, with layered pouches and straps that don’t interfere with posing, and the plate swap adds a simple but effective way to customize how this figure reads on the shelf.

Operation-Monster-Force-Season-Zero-Apophis-Legion-Undead-Phantom-Corps-Trooper-18

As a final look, everything comes together in a way that feels cohesive and deliberate, with the figure reading clearly as both a modern soldier and an undead threat without one side overpowering the other. The balance between gear, damage, and accessories gives it a strong shelf presence, and the poseability lets you find stances that feel natural and supported by the sculpt. It ends up feeling like a figure that rewards time and handling, where the more you adjust and display it, the more the design choices start to click.

As someone who grew up completely obsessed with M.A.S.K., this kind of news instantly grabs my attention, because Ramen Toy has once again shown they truly understand what made this line so special in the first place, announcing that Switchblade is officially in development for their MAKINA line, and yes, my inner kid immediately went into overdrive when I saw their social media post confirming it. Hearing them describe it as Kenner scale but new and improved, with a philosophy similar to what Takara is doing with the Transformers Missing Link line, really tells you where their head is at here, honoring the original while refining it for modern collectors without losing that unmistakable vintage soul. Ramen Toy has consistently proven they approach M.A.S.K. with a level of respect, attention, and passion that feels incredibly rare in today’s toy landscape, and Switchblade is one of those iconic vehicles that absolutely deserves this kind of treatment, from its sleek jet mode to the transformation potential that made it unforgettable back in the day. I love that this announcement is still light on specifics, because it keeps the conversation buzzing and the imagination running wild, even though there is currently no word on pricing, release timing, or final features. Still, knowing Ramen Toy’s track record, it is hard not to feel confident that this will end up being a must-add piece for longtime fans and serious M.A.S.K. collectors alike, and I will definitely be keeping a close eye on this one as more details eventually surface.

The Vintage Switch Blade

The M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) Switchblade is a vintage toy vehicle from the M.A.S.K. franchise, which was released in the mid-1980s and was a transforming helicopter. The Switchblade is notable for its ability to transform from a sleek motorcycle into a helicopter. In its motorcycle form, the Switchblade has a sporty aesthetic typical of 1980s design, with vibrant colors and decals. When transformed into helicopter mode, it features rotor blades that can spin, enhancing the play experience. M.A.S.K. was both a toy line created by Kenner and an animated television series, featuring a team of heroes and villains who utilized transforming vehicles and masks with special abilities.

Released in 1985 as part of the first wave of the M.A.S.K. toy line, Switchblade was piloted by Miles Mayhem, the leader of VENOM (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), who wore the Viper mask. The vehicle transformed from a basic helicopter into a fighter jet with just a flip of the tail.

This was one of my favorite toys as a kid. It was just such a cool toy with awesome play features—the way the wings popped out when you flipped the tail was incredibly satisfying. It was so much fun flying it around the room, launching attacks on the M.A.S.K. agents from above.

Miles Mayhem was the main antagonist in M.A.S.K., serving as both an oil baron and a terrorist. He came packed with the Viper mask and his outfit resembled more a business suit.

I had the distinct pleasure of spending some real time at the Ramen Toy section of the Knowhere Toys booth at NYCC 2025, and wow—what an incredible display of creativity and craftsmanship! Getting hands-on with their lineup was an absolute treat, as everything on display had that unmistakable Ramen Toy energy. The toys have bold concepts, sharp detailing, and nostalgic flair with modern engineering. The booth showcased the massive Super Musk Sewer/Street DioRamen, which looked like a dream setup for any collector wanting to bring their figures to life. Their MAKINA line was front and center, showing off the incredible design work fans have come to expect. Sitting atop was the wickedly cool Misery Machine, and the Amphisbaena vehicle that that fits with any 6″ Military line. On top of that, Ramen Toy had some killer exclusives on hand, including the translucent Clear Shark convention exclusive and their beautifully carded con-only figures. It was one of those rare times where you could just feel the passion poured into every sculpt, every paint detail, and every concept. The Ramen Toy team is firing on all cylinders, and their presence at NYCC 2025 absolutely lit up the show floor!

Misery Machine

The Misery Machine sits menacingly on display, a zombified twist on the classic mystery van we all know. Its turquoise body is splattered with red handprints and oozing green slime graphics, while the bright orange wheels and roof lights add a wicked pop of contrast. The sides feature a ghoulish zombie head replacing the iconic logo, with “ARE U?” scrawled on the rear doors in blood-red letters. Seeing it in person surrounded by rows of nostalgic figures instantly brings back those Scooby-Doo vibes, but with a dark, tongue-in-cheek edge that makes it feel right at home in the horror-tinged nostalgia scene.

The back doors of the Misery Machine swing wide open to reveal a detailed, two-seat interior with a textured metal floor and molded dashboard up front. The open cargo space gives off that classic van vibe but with a creepy twist, especially with the blood-streaked “WHERE ARE U?” scrawled across the outside door panel. The custom SK008 “WASTELAND” license plate adds a nice finishing touch.

Amphisbaena

The AMPHISBAENA from Ramen Toy’s RAV (Ramen Armored Vehicles) line rolls in with an aggressive black and red color scheme that immediately grabs attention. Built in 1/12 scale, this Double Barrel Plasma Cannon MBT is designed to pair perfectly with six-inch figures. The tank features functional rubber tracks supported by working sprocket and idle wheels, along with six individually suspended road wheels for smooth motion across uneven terrain. Its turret offers full 360-degree rotation, and the dual cannons elevate and depress on a ratchet joint for realistic posing. Twin hatches on the turret open to seat two figures, with dual communication antennas rising from the top. The rear showcases detailed vents and tow hooks, while clear headlights and taillights add to the realism. Inside, the dual seating hull interior is fully realized, providing a cockpit that fits two standard 1/12 scale figures with precision.

Super Musk DioRamen

The DioRamen setup captures an immersive urban and underground environment, featuring a multi-level design that transitions from street level to a gritty sewer below. The upper section is made up of eight asphalt road panels with optional manhole and pavement covers, complemented by brick wall backdrops, working LED lighting over an opening door, and a functional rolling shutter door. A fire escape with a drop-down ladder adds that perfect city realism, while the lower section brings the underworld to life with eight sewer floor panels, interchangeable grates, and flowing water effects. Details like support pipes, ventilation vents, and LED-lit sewer walls powered by USB-C make it feel alive, complete with a vertical pipe and valve wheel to finish the industrial aesthetic.

The back walls of the diorama are built from textured red brick panels that give the setup an authentic city alley vibe. Each section includes realistic details like ventilation grates, industrial-style doors, and a rolling shutter, with one wall featuring a fire escape complete with a drop-down ladder. Small accessories like a phone booth, mailbox, and fire hydrant add to the urban realism, while signage and weathered finishes tie everything together, creating a convincing backdrop for 1/12 scale figure displays.

MAKINA

The MAKINA display showcases a stunning lineup, starting from the right with the JoeFest exclusive Shark featuring its signature shark-mouth deco, followed by the NYCC 2025 exclusive clear Shark that shows off the intricate internal sculpt through its translucent plastic. Next is the regular Shark with its bright white and yellow colorway, and rounding things out is the Mobula in a sleek purple finish. Each vehicle is paired with its corresponding figure and accessories, creating a cohesive and visually striking presentation that highlights the craftsmanship and variety within the MAKINA line.

Here’s an up-close look at the NYCC 2025 exclusive clear Shark, showing off its translucent body that reveals the inner structure of the vehicle. The yellow-tinted fins and accents pop against the frosted clear plastic, highlighting the vehicle’s sleek aerodynamic lines. Positioned in front is the matching translucent Portia White and helmet.

Ramen-Toy-NYCC-2025-Booth-25

The Mobula and Shark vehicles make an impressive pairing, each showing off their unique design cues and transformation features. The Mobula sports a bold purple and blue color scheme with wing attachments and twin spinning saw blades extending from the front, paying homage the cartoon. Beside it, the Shark balances sleek style with its clean white and yellow deco, turbine-style side engines, and sharply angled fins.

The JoeFest exclusive Shark cuts a sharp profile with its matte gray finish accented by the striking red shark-mouth design along the front fenders. Its turbine-style side engines and angular fins stay true to the MAKINA aesthetic, giving the vehicle a sleek yet aggressive look.

Ramen Toy unveiled the latest development in their Mobula MAKINA vehicle that pays homage to one of V.E.N.O.M’s vehicles piloted by Vanessa Warfield, which It transforms from a lavender Nissan 300zx sports car to a stealth jet fighter. Ramen Toy revealed some quick painted prototype pics and said on their Facebook page, “MaKiNa Mobula painted prototype- quick pics. Pre orders coming soon and delivery would be 12 months after. Thank you for supporting MaKiNa, please share this so that those who want one can not miss one. We always aim to make a one time production to meet MOQ. Mobula MAKINA Ramen Toy Prototype Revealed

Ramen Toy unveiled a prototype of their 4th vehicle in their MAKINA line dubbed the Mobula. Formerly known as the Purple Ray, the Mobula is one of V.E.N.O.M’s vehicles piloted by Vanessa Warfield, which It transforms from a lavender Nissan 300zx sports car to a stealth jet fighter. You might be wondering where the name Mobula comes from! Playing on the word Manta, the Mobula is a a devil ray smaller than a manta, with a long tail and a mouth situated on the underside. Paying homage to the M.A.S.K. animated appearance of the Manta, the Mobula blends the aesthetic with the a ton of playability that incorporates many features that the original toy from 1987 did not have!

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-13
Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-14

In the animated series, Vanessa Warfield’s Manta was a formidable vehicle in V.E.N.O.M.’s arsenal. When transformed, it converted from a 300Z into a flying vehicle with wings that folded out, allowing it to engage in aerial combat.

Given that Venessa Warfield originally piloted the Manta, we can’t wait to see what her name is under Ramen’s MAKINA line. In it’s automobile form, the Mobula becomes an unassuming Nissan 300zx.

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-1
Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-2

There is so much attention to detail in this vehicle. In the original toy from 1987, the window “glass” was not present but Ramen Toy has added some finer details, like making the driver and passenger windows detach.

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-3
Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-4

In the M.A.S.K. animated series, the Manta had Saw Blades that came out from the front of the car and the 1987 version was sorely missing this aspect. It is amazing to see the Mobula incorporate this aspect as it’s great to get a proper animated version of the vehicle.

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-7

On the hood of the vehicle, a set of 3 large missiles raises up, which looks amazing both in vehicle mode and aircraft mode.

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-5
Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-6

The engineering on the vehicle is quite remarkable as the rear stabilizers are backed into the back of the vehicle!

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-8

They fold out and also extend using a small level that is found on the inside of the panels that open up, revealing the 3 large jet engines that give the Mobula the ability to take flight.

The details and ingenuity of the design do not stop at the exterior transformations. The seat also can turn into a single person aircraft, with a flight stick, fold out wings, and two small jet engines underneath the seat.

Eagle Sharp Gatchaman II Prototype Revealed

Revealed at the Ramen Toy booth at Asia Pop Con 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is the Eagle Sharp Gatchaman II prototype. Officially licensed by Tatsunoko Production, the Eagle Sharp prototype looks absolutely stunning! Growing up in the U.S., I knew this series as Battle of the Planets and it’s amazing to see an updated, modern version of the Eagle Sharp while paying homage to the vintage design and aesthetic. In 1:24 scale, the spacecraft is 300mm long is will be made of ABS plastic. The set will also come with a 1:24 scale Ken the Eagle figure, which will be 70mm tall. Huge thanks to retro_toy_escapades for posting images from the con!

Eagle-Sharp-Gatchaman-II-Prototype-Ramen-Toy-1

Looking at the front of the Eagle Sharp, you can see the small forewings or foreplanes on the front of the aircraft, which, in aviation, is called a canard. In an aircraft with a canard configuration, the main wing is positioned horizontally around the middle of the fuselage, while the smaller canard wing is placed in front of it. The forward surface of a canard configuration is relatively small and doesn’t contribute much to the aircraft’s overall lift but they add a very cool look to the Eagle Sharp. In the rear of the aircraft, you can see the 3 engines, which consist of one large engine flanked by two smaller engines.

Ace also shared some images with us for some alternate looks at the Eagle Sharp and, just remember, this is only a prototype and it will be amazing to see how this shapes up as the weeks and months go by as Ramen Toy makes very stellar products with a lot of attention to detail.

There is so much attention to detail in this vehicle. In the original toy from 1987, the window “glass” was not present but Ramen Toy has added some finer details, like making the driver and passenger windows detach.

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-3

The engineering on the vehicle is quite remarkable as the rear stabilizers are backed into the back of the vehicle!

Mobula-Purple-Ray-MAKINA-Ramen-Toy-Prototype-8

They fold out and also extend using a small level that is found on the inside of the panels that open up, revealing the 3 large jet engines that give the Mobula the ability to take flight.

The details and ingenuity of the design do not stop at the exterior transformations. The seat also can turn into a single person aircraft, with a flight stick, fold out wings, and two small jet engines underneath the seat.

Eagle-Sharp-Gatchaman-II-Prototype-Ramen-Toy-5

On the right and left profiles of the Eagle Sharp, you can see the wing detail, which consists of 2 horizontal lines. The engine covers also have 2 bands of horizontal lines in the front and rear, which add some depth and dimension to it.

Here is a close up shot of Ken The Eagle and you can clearly see the details on his helmet and upper torso! This is going to make a fantastic figure and he’ll look great piloting the Eagle Sharp!

Ace also shared some images with us for some alternate looks at the Eagle Sharp and, just remember, this is only a prototype and it will be amazing to see how this shapes up as the weeks and months go by as Ramen Toy makes very stellar products with a lot of attention to detail.

Sporting cartoon inspired outfit with a bright yellow, red white and blue color scheme, this Marshall figure have some amazing details and added features that the vintage figure never had. He has the classic white cowboy hat and red star on the front. He comes with some futuristic red visors and a headset microphone that hangs down from the visor. He is wearing a bright yellow cowboy shirt with vintage inspired blue chest armor with red and white accents and a white star. He also has a red accent strip down his torso.

He has white gloves with blue accents and comes with a utility belt with many pockets on it. He also has on yellowish tan pants, but I think perhaps it would have looked better with pants of a darker contrasting color, like brown. But perhaps there was a copyright issue being too close to the vintage original. He has some hip and ankle guards that are also blue and white. And finally he is wearing brown boots.

History of Marshall Bravestarr

The Marshall Bravestarr action figure is a vintage toy based on the animated TV series from the 1980s called “Bravestarr.” The action figure depicts the main character, Marshal Bravestarr, who is a Native American lawman in the futuristic western world of New Texas.

The figure stands approximately six inches tall and is highly detailed, featuring a removable cowboy hat, a laser pistol, and a backpack. The figure also has several points of articulation, allowing for a wide range of poses and movements.

The Marshall Bravestarr action figure was produced by Mattel in 1986 and was part of their highly successful Masters of the Universe toy line. The character and figure were popular among children of the time and are now highly coveted by collectors of vintage action figures.

He also came packaged with his trusty robotic horse Thirty Thirty! These are rare to find in box, or loose complete.

CARTOON SERIES Bravestarr is an American animated science fiction series that was produced by Filmation and aired from 1987 to 1989. The show was set on the planet of New Texas, where the main character, Marshal Bravestarr, served as the law enforcement officer of the town of Fort Kerium.

The cartoon featured a futuristic Wild West setting, complete with cowboy hats and six-shooters, as well as advanced technology like hovercrafts and robots. One of the unique elements of the show was Bravestarr’s ability to call upon spiritual animal powers, such as the strength of a bear or the speed of a puma, which he used to battle outlaws and save the town.

The show also had a diverse cast of human and alien characters, including Bravestarr’s trusty robot horse, Thirty/Thirty, and his Native American deputy, J.B. McBride. The villains of the show, such as Tex Hex and Stampede, were often morally ambiguous and had complex motivations.

Bravestarr was well-received during its original run and has since gained a cult following. It has been praised for its positive representation of Native American culture and themes of environmentalism and social justice.

Plus there is an adapter for the neck peg of the Wolfpack pilot head. The beauty of this is that the included Wolfpack head is made to be a replacement for the terrible head sculpt we got for the GI Joe Classified Falcon figure. It comes with an included neck peg adapter to adjust for the size of your GI Joe Classified figure so that it fits both the Aces of Aviation and the GI Joe Classified figure! This is brilliant as you can now replace your Falcon head and don’t need to buy the Night Force 2 pack just for the head! As a lifelong M.A.S.K. who’s been waiting literally for 40 years, Ramen Toy did the near impossible and created a vehicle and figure pair we’ve waiting four decades for! As Ramen Toy shared on their Instagram page, “The wait is finally over. Nearly 40 years have MaKiNa fans waited for this and it is coming this summer! We may just miss our end June delivery date by 1 month, July 2024. But the reason for this is to make some final tweaks to tooling from us playing with this pre production sample! For those who haven’t yet order. Please go to our website to order this one time limited edition piece ! https://ramentoy.com/products/item-mkn02-great-white-pre-order. Thank you ! This is the Great White”!

Looking amazing in alternate mode, you can see the periscope for the submarine mode and how it looks when it retracted on the top of the roof in vehicle mode. The attention to detail is stunning and, from the view in car mode, you can see the Great White logo!

The top view shows the full submarine mode with fins and engines extended! The spring loaded rear wheels activate to reveal turbine thrusters alongside bonnet fin extensions. Bonnet fins can be further extended to meet the windshield via option parts stored under the car. Back fins extend via rotation from under the car to the back of the vehicle. The sub looks amazing from the front and the back

The front and rear of the vehicle also looks realistic and pays homage to the Porche 928 vehicle with the slopped hatchback and the front end! As an added feature, the spring loaded “headlight” torpedoes launch via depressing on headlights of the vehicle.

Digital Renders and Prototypes

Back on March 31, 2022, Ramen Toy fired their opening salvo in what would kick off their MAKINA line, which are paying homage to the beloved Mobile Armored Strike Kommand (M.A.S.K.) line from the 80’s. In a few simple words, “Posting this to get the ball rolling…Code Name : Great White,” the line was off to the races as Ramen Toy teased a color digital render of the Shark from the M.A.S.K. cartoon, a vehicle that was loved by fans but curiously missing from the M.A.S.K. line.

Shark MASK Color Digital Render Tease
Shark MASK Digital Render Tease

What we love about Ramen Toy is that they share their progress and stages in the design process, which gives fans a more personal view in to what goes into making world class action figures and vehicles. For example, they shared this Digital render of The Great White where they said, “Adding in some details, sorting out some function, not yet the final product, just thought we’d share the progress.”

Shark-MASK-Color-Digital-Render

Flash forward to May 2022, Ramen Toy about blew up their Facebook page when they posted a prototype of the Great White and asked fans to hold comments, which of course they did not! This image accomplished two things where they got to show off progress on the Great White AND they also threw in a sneaky tease of the yet to be named Gullwing, which was the first vehicle and figure to ultimately go up for preorder. In Ramen Toy’s words, “This is to make sure we get the shape as close as what we remember it as an 80’s kid seeing it on the TV.”

Great White Shark MASK Prototype 1

Back in May 2022, Ramen Toy dropped a not so subtle hint that they were venturing into the beloved Mobile Armored Strike Kommand (M.A.S.K.) line from the 80’s when they announced their Makina line. They dropped this logo on their Facebook Page and their followers were elated!

Ramen Toy Makina Logo
Ramen Toy Makina Logo
Gloria Baker MASK 3D Render 3

The second Ramen Toy showed a prototype of Gloria, we knew something amazing was in the works. The Aura (aka Collider) is Gloria Bakers’s main mask and she wears it no matter if she’s driving her own vehicle Shark and/or co-driving Gator or Thunderhawk. The mask, can envelope her, her vehicle or other objects and shield them in a protective aura of energy that absorbs any energy directed at it, such as lasers and dissipate. It then absorbs back it into the mask itself and be fired back at the source or wherever Gloria decides to project it. The mask sculpt for the Aura is spot on to the cartoon!

Gloria Baker MASK 3D Render 1
Gloria Baker MASK 3D Render 2

Up until this point, Ramen Toy just referred to the figure as the driver of the Great White but on June 6, 2022, they gave her a name: “Working on Portia White, driver of MAKINA code name Great White. Coming soon,” and posted an image with dimensions and a full breakdown of the figure.

Portia White Gloria Baker MASK MAKINA Reveal

In an updated, also in June of 2022, Ramen Toy dropped image showing off two designs for the wheel, “An added feature of the Great White, we have the wheels turn into turbines for propulsion while submerged. (Actual model does not submerge in water).”

Revealing the final sculpt of Portia White, they revealed more details of the figure by saying “Final sculpt of our 3 inch tall Portia White figure that is included with Great White (approximately but not exactly 1/24 scale).

Portia White Gloria Baker MAKINA MASK Final Sculpt

They wanted to call out that the figure was NOT resin recast, as it will be tooled and injection molded and colored. The figure will feature 14 points of articulation:

  • neck swivel
  • shoulder rotation & swivel
  • elbow bend and swivel
  • waist swivel
  • leg swivel
  • knee bend

In a post that also nearly broke their Facebook page, Ramen Toy revealed a color render of Portia White, which was show she appeared in the M.A.S.K. cartoon in the 1980’s.

Portia White Gloria Baker MASK MAKINA Color Render Reveal

Like we alluded to earlier, what we love about Ramen Toy is they give you a sneak peak into the design process:

“We have adjusted the shape of the base of the periscope and the front wheels now folds inwards like the animation before the front wheel fins extend.

We are still working on the side extension of the rear most fins as well as to make the rear wheel fins to have a bigger surface area.

If a bigger surface area is to be had, then the fins cannot retract into the wheels.

So there are some decisions to be made.”

You really get a sense of the work and effort that goes into designing a vehicle from scratch when they share these types of images.

Great White Details

In a massive update they posted on their Facebook page back in October of 2022, Ramen Toy detailed out specifications for how the various parts of this vehicle will function. For example, they stated that the periscope transformers via a spring loaded action and the front wheels transform inwards. They also noted that the turbine fix needed to be enlarged and they showed an image from the cartoon to give you a sense of what was in store.

Great White Shark MASK MAKINA Details 2
Great White Shark MASK MAKINA Details 3

We love when toy companies use magnets and what a stellar design decision to use them to attach exterior pieces to the Great White. What was amazing about the MASK tooling back in the 80’s was the use of springs and buttons that made the vehicles function in alternate mode and Ramen Toy is using these in the Great White. For example, they stated that the side fins shoots out via spring loaded activation. Can you just imagine the sound? We can and we are so excited for this!

Final 3D Render

Back on January, 12, 2023, coming down the home stretch in the design process, Ramen Toy posted and update and detailed out the final 3D renders from what they referred to as a “pain staking process.”

Great White Shark MASK MAKINA Update 2
Great White Shark MASK MAKINA Update 4

This process includes:

1) 1st creating an overall shaped 3D of the model

2) Printing the 3D into a physical form to work on a hand sample of the functionality of the model

3) Going thru 5 iterations of the hand sample to finally reach our confirmed methodology of making this

4) scanning the hand sample into 3D and refining to this 3D which we will then output as a final prototype to color and take pre-orders in (estimated) April 2023, so that the Red Gullwing can be shipped into collectors’ hands before supporting the Pre-Order on this Great White from MaKiNa by yours truly, Ramen Toy.

Gloria Baker and Shark History

Gloria Baker is the sole female agent of M.A.S.K. According to the M.A.S.K. Computer in the episode The Artemis Enigma, Gloria received a college education in Athens, Greece. She appeared in more MASK episodes than most MASK characters but, funny enough, a figure and vehicle were never made by Kenner for the M.A.S.K. toy line! Gloria’s skills included being a champion race driver, a Black Belt in Kung Fu and Karate, having knowledge of structural engineering, a background in Archaeology and a former student of anthropology as she received her college education in Athens Greece. The Shark is one of M.A.S.K. vehicles often driven by Gloria Baker. It transforms from a white Porsche 928 sports car to a white attack submarine.

Gloria Baker is not new to the M.A.S.K. toy line as she was released as part of their Split Seconds line in the final wave. What is new, and what Ramen Toy is doing is filling a gap where Kenner origianlly did not have, which was a Gloria Baker figure and her Shark vehicle.

Kenneth Chirayil on Instagram

Ramen Toy has knocked this one out of the park as their Masters of the Verse Heads look stunning! Thanks to my_buddys_customs on Instagram, we get an in-hand look at these movie accurate head sculpts and, spolier alert, they are off the charts amazing! Each head sculpt is hand painted and the likeness to the Masters of the Universe movie actor is uncanny! Let’s take a closer look at Verse 1 and 2 that fir the Masterverse buck and Verse 3 that fit the Origins buck.

Masters-of-the-Verse-Heads-Ramen-Toy-In-Hand-1

The detail on these heads are outstanding and the facial features are very lifelike. From the cheek bones to the chin, the heads offer a lifelike portrayal of He-Man from the Masters of the Universe movie. There are two heads that fit the Masterverse buck and one head that fits the Origins buck, which is fantastic as we never got a movie He-Man in the vintage line so it is great to see one that is finally produced.

Verse 1 and 2

Here we can see a comparison of the stock head (middle) and the Verse 1 (left) and Verse 2 (right) heads and thank goodness Ramen Toy created these because the original heads that came on the Masterverse figure missed the mark.

Masters-of-the-Verse-Heads-Ramen-Toy-In-Hand-8

my_buddys_customs also threw the head on the movie figure and the Masters of the Universe Revelation He-Man and they make a difference in how these figures look! The Masters of the Universe Revelation head was also a miss but Ramon Toy makes up for this as you can see how versatile these heads are! You could order a few sets to replace all of your standard He-Man heads!

Masters-of-the-Verse-Heads-Ramen-Toy-In-Hand-2
Masters-of-the-Verse-Heads-Ramen-Toy-In-Hand-3

Here is how the Verse 2 head looks next to the Masterverse Movie Skeletor and wow, what a difference this head makes!

Masters-of-the-Verse-Heads-Ramen-Toy-In-Hand-10

Verse 3

Ramen Toy had the creative idea to also make a head to fit the MOTU Origins buck, which was clever as fans go gaga over Origins and their was never an official release of a movie He-Man in the vintage line. The head in perfect scale to the 5.5″ figures and this gives you yet another option to replace the myriad of standard He-Man heads to change up your display!

Where to Buy

You can still order Verse 1 and 2 heads although Verse 3 is sold out on the Ramen Toy website!

Behind the Scenes

We have an exclusive behind the scenes look at the Ramen Toy Master of the Verse Heads project for both Masterverse and Origins. Before we dive into the details, we wanted to give a special shoutout to Mega Jay Retro (sub his YouTube channel and Instagram page) for connecting Toy Habits to Ramen Toy! We first met Noel Lee (aka Ace) from Ramen Toy just a few short days ago when Mega Jay had Toy Habits on their live stream as we all reacted to some doom and gloom reporting from another YouTuber what will rename nameless. Enough gushing, let’s dive into the details and behind the scenes look at the Master of the Verse Heads project by Ramen Toy with their inaugural movie He-Man head sculpt.

Movie He-Man Dolph Lungren Ramen Toy Masterverse Comparison

How Mattel could be so off on the Dolph Lungren look is beyond us but thank goodness Ramen Toy is addressing the head sculpt and creating their own!

Ramen Toy revealed their solution to the derpy He-Man head sculpt that has plagued Mattel in recent years with their Master of the Verse Movie He-Man head sculpt that will fit the 2023 Masterverse figures. Let’s face it (pun intended ?) that Mattel has a very hard time getting the head sculpt for Movie He-Man right, which is a shame because He-Man is the iconic character in the line. Ramen Toys is amazing about posting their progress through the design lifecycle so let’s take a peak under the hood in this exclusive look at the design process.

Exclusive Update

Ramen Toy shared a digital render of what they are calling Verse 1 & 2 of the head sculpt that will fit on the Masterverse buck. They added more texture to the skin, which is very subtle in the digital render. At this stage, they are evaluating how this looks and will make adjustments, if needed, once they 3D print it and get to see what it is like in real life.

Movie He-Man Dolph Lungren Masters of the Heads Verse 1 and 2

Iterating Version 1 and Version 2

Not happy with the how the eyes looked in version 1 (right), Ramen Toy updated the paint app to have the irises sit higher in the eye socket, so they redid it and this is the version 2 you see on the left! It definitely looks like a more natural stare and gaze with the stern look they have sculpted!

Movie He-Man Dolph Lungren Masters of the Heads v1 and v2

Using what Noel had on hand, he placed the Masterverse head on the MOTU Classics Rebel Leader He-Man! He is in the process of obtaining the Movie He-Man Masterverse so stay tuned!

Movie He-Man Dolph Lungren Masters of the Heads Painted Prototype 1

They stated, “Once we get our hands on the actual Mattel figure, we will be able to confirm the final dimensions of our Master of the Verse head to fit the Mattel figures.”

Verse 3 for MOTU Origins

Revealed on January 12, 2022, Ramen Toy added a 3rd head sculpt that will fit the Masters of the Universe Origins line! This is amazing news as there was never a Movie He-Man created in the vintage line and it is TBD whether Mattel will be creating a movie version for the Origins line.

Movie He-Man Dolph Lungren Masters of the Heads Coming Soon

As stated on their Facebook Page: “Thank you to everyone for your positive support of our Master of the Verse heads project, creating option heads for your most beloved Mattel He-Man figures.

We will be listing the heads for pre-orders on our website really soon. We will post another update when that product page goes up

In the meantime, here are the final prices.

US$15.90 for 1 head, with a set of 3 at US$33.00

www.ramentoy.com will only list the set of 3 and if you would want to only purchase one, we can direct you to potential sales partners like BBTS or one of our many resellers.

We are also working on getting a page up on our website where we list all our resale partners.

Please note that we are still waiting to get the Mattel figure in hand to do proper sizing before we can commence tooling of the heads. But we do have an estimated delivery date of April 2023.”

Behind the Scenes Look at Verse 3

We were lucky and fortunate to have Ramen Toy give us a sneak peak into their design process for both the Masterverse version and the Origins version. The Masterverse heads “fit” the look and feel of the Origins figures, but, as you can see, the dimensions are off. In order to match the exact look and have it blend in with the Origins buck more naturally, the digital render needed to be resized. Here, shown on a 200x He-Man MOTU Origins buck, the digital render, as Ramen Toy noted, looks “a little squashed,” but there is a method to the madness!

As you can see, the dimensions of an Origins head are very different than the Masterverse heads, so Ramen Toy is being precise and measuring the head of the 200x He-Man in both length and width, which will help inform how the figure looks on the Origins bucks.

Ramen Toy Measuring the Origins Head

November 2022: Master of the Verse Heads Project Reveal

Back on November 12, 2022, Ramen Toy posted a digital render of the first head sculpt reveal for their Master of the Verse Heads project and it was none other than the Dolph Lungren head sculpt to replace (or fix) the standard head sculpt packed with the newly released Masterverse movie He-Man figure. Even seeing the digital render for the first time, it is lightyears beyond the standard Dolph Lungren head sculpt.

3D Printed Prototype

Back on November 17, 2022 Ramen Toy posted 3D printed prototype images with gray paint applied of the Dolph Lungren style head on a Masterverse buck so they could see how it fit and gauge the look and feel! They really nailed the face and hair sculpt, which looks like the real flowing hair of Dolph’s 80’s style hairdo. These head sculpts will be fully production end products which are fully painted and made with quality injection molded plastic, which is the same as Mattel would use.

More Details and Behind the Scenes

Ramen Toy will be putting up The Maverick for preorder, their homage to Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the Top Gun sequel in twelfth scale!

Ramen Toy is immortalizing Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, with their twelfth scale figure that is ripped right from the sequel to the 1988 Top Gun movie. This figure will be going up for preorder soon so be sure to follow Ramen Toy on Facebook and check their website as they are offering early bird preorder specials when this figure goes up for sale so don’t miss out! As this figure gears up to go on preorder soon, let’s take a closer look at the details!

“Revvin’ up your engine…Listen to her howlin’ roar…Metal under tension…Beggin’ you to touch and go”

The Maverick

Ramen Toy nailed the likeliness of Tom Cruise as well as the Navel aviator G-suit that is featured in the movie. The attention to detail is second to none and you get a couple different display options with his G-suit on or off. This will be a limited edition figure that will be going up for preorder soon with a price point of $99.95 USD with an early bird preorder price of $69.95 USD on www.ramentoy.com

Starting from the inside out, pilots are required to wear a CWU 27/P Nomex flight suit underneath everything else. This suit is built to military specification and, as such, tends to be worn by the U.S. military. The figure features this type of suit with movie accurate squadron patches that pa homage to the flight suit that is worn underneath the G-suit.

The-Maverick-Top-Gun-Twelth-Scale-Figure-Ramen-Toy-8

Product features :

  • 1/12 scale (approx 162mm)
  • Realistic face sculpt and paint finish
  • ‘wearable” HGU-33 helmet with movie accurate deco
  • HGU-33 helmet features “working” visor slides up and down
  • Oxygen mask made from pliable soft plastic “latches” into either side of HGU-33 helmet
  • Realistic squadron patches with intricate detailing
  • wrist watch with watch face details
  • 3 pairs of option hands plus 1 right salute & right thumbs up hand.
  • “removable” G-suit
  • G-suit features excellent minute detailing down to the harness, buckles and survival torch details.
  • a pair of “aviator sunglasses”
  • 24 points of articulation.
  • PVC & ABS construction

In addition to the versatility of the overall look of the figure, there are also finer details that Ramen Toy captured. For example, the wearable HGU-33 helmet with movie accurate deco looks like it fits like a glove and features a working visor that slides up and down. Even when the visor is in the down position, you can still tell this is Tom Cruise from the nose down as they captured his likeness spot on, even when the figure is wearing the oxygen mask. Getting a peak into the design process is what Ramen Toy brings to fans, and as you can see, the final product will not have the two pegs visible from the back.

With the figure donning the aviator sunglasses, it completes the look and this final shot of The Maverick with this oxygen mask half latched to his helmet shows the thoughtfulness that Ramen Toy put into the design of the smaller details as this mask can latch on to either side of the HGU-33 helmet.

Back on March 31, 2022, Ramen Toy fired their opening salvo in what would kick off their MAKINA line, which are paying homage to the beloved Mobile Armored Strike Kommand (M.A.S.K.) line from the 80’s. In a few simple words, “Posting this to get the ball rolling…Code Name : Great White,” the line was off to the races as Ramen Toy teased a color digital render of the Shark from the M.A.S.K. cartoon, a vehicle that was loved by fans but curiously missing from the M.A.S.K. line.

Great White Shark MASK MAKINA Prototype 2
